Over the past decade, the US Surgeon General's Report on Mental Health,[1] the President's New Freedom Commission Report,[2] Schizophrenia Patient Outcomes Research Team (PORT) project,[3] the Texas Medications Algorithm Project (TMAP),[4] and several other systematic efforts[5–10] have identified a variety of evidence-based interventions for persons with schizophrenia. Examples of effective interventions include systematic approaches to medication management, assertive community treatment, relapse prevention programs, and supported employment.
