V. MEASURING THE INSULATOR’S RESISTANCES
Insulator’s resistances were measured by high sensitive
ohmmeter. Measured resistance values ‘speak for
themselves’ and show evidently that composite insulators
are withstanding the contamination better (when wet
resistances and leakage currents are in consideration).
Resistances of wetted naturally contaminated composite
insulators are by order of magnitudes higher in values than
glass insulator strings (TABLE II).
