The PDC T1D New Onset Study enrolle

The PDC T1D New Onset Study enrolled 1048 patients withnew-onset T1D between July 2009 and April 2011.The protocolwas approved by the institutional review board at eachof the 7 participating pediatric centers in the US.Informedconsent was obtained from participants 18 years of age orolder and from parents/guardians of those younger than18 years of age.The analyses reported herein includedata from 530 participants who met the following criteria: atleast 1 diabetes present 2.protein or glutamicacid decarboxylase autoantibody within 91 days of diagnosis,and/or insulin autoantibody within 14 days of diagnosis), age2 years at diagnosis, and BMI available at both 3 and12 months.
