Contract Manufacturing - A contract manufacturing relationship is established when a Nestle Purina engages a non• affiliated third party to, under written agreement, supply Nestle Purina with Nestle Purina branded finished products. Nestle Purina takes direct receipt and ownership of the finished product or instructs the third party to ship the finished product as directed by Nestle Purina.
Contract Manufacturer - A contract manufacturer is a non-affiliated third party, which under written agreement with Nestle Purina, supplies branded finished product to Nestle Purina. This includes subcontractors engaged by the contract manufacturer who, with written approval Nestle Purina, manufactures the finished product. Nestle Purina utilizes three types of contract manufacturers: Co-Manufacturers, Co-Fillers and Re-Packagers.
Co-Manufacturer - This is a full service agreement where a third party processes and packages finished product for delivery to Nestle Purina for a predetermined fee. Nestle Purina may supply none, some or all of the key ingredients and materials used in the finished product.
Co-Filler- This is an arrangement where Nestle Purina produces and provides the product (i.e. Bulk, Work In Process, etc.) to a third party to do the packaging and conversion to finished product format. This arrangement is also commonly called co-packing.
