Rodgers seems to have made it clear that the way he’s going to build his teams at Anfield is through using younger players alongside a few key and experienced stars in important positions.
He may not even have to go and buy someone with Conor Coady progressing superbly during his loan spell with Sheffield United to become a 21-year-old he could get some first team game time next season.

The increased number of games will allow Rodgers to take a look at Coady in the same way that he first introduced the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jon Flanagan into the first team.
Should Coady thrive and play well in front of the back four when he’s given a chance, the decision not to go and buy Mascherano or another holding midfielder has been justified.
