This thesis presents Public Relation Robot “Diamond” of Bangkok University and School of Engineering. The structure of the robot is divided into 3 parts.
Part one is the base of the robot which consists of 3 DC motors. 2 DC motors is used for controlling robot movement. While another DC motor, which connected to gearbox, focuses on robot bend and lift with slow motion feature.
Part two is robot body, which is head and shoulders. We use 2 digital servo motors for head motion, pan and tilt. And installed another 2 DC motors for shoulders movement.
Part Three is robot arms, each arm has 6 degrees of freedom, 5 digital servo motors for arm controlling, and 5 analog servo motors for fingers movement independently.
From all integrated three parts, this robot can imitate human poses, follow the
programmed command and be able to respond with 2 ways communication. Moreover, it can express it’s emotion via computer display at the robot head. To command “Diamond” robot, we use wireless joystick or android operating system devices which connect on Ethernet network (Protocol TCP/IP Socket).
