The scavenging effect of extracts was monitored as previously
described with some modifications (Olech & Nowak, 2012). Aliquots
of 180 ml of a freshly prepared 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH)
colored solution inmethanol (0.07 mg/mL)were mixed with 20 ml of
the extract diluted to various concentrations in 96-well microplates.
The solutions were shaken and incubated at 28 C for 60 min in the
dark. A decrease in DPPH absorbance induced by the sample was
measured at 517 nm using an Elisa reader.
