Calla lily plants do not originate
in Taiwan. Their bulbs or tissue culture
plantlets were imported from various countries,
including New Zealand, Vietnam,
Thailand, the Netherlands, and the United
States. From 2001 to 2002, through the
help of the governmental quarantine offices,
a total of 132 imported calla lily
bulbs were tested by ELISA and 11 bulbs
were intercepted with positive TuMV infection.
Of the 11 TuMV-infected bulbs, 3
were from Vietnam, while the other 8 came
from the United States.
