Table 1. Fig. 1 shows the afterglow decay curve of SMSED phosphors and SMSED-PP fibers mixed with phosphors of different contents. Additionally, as tested in the dark room, the afterglow decay time of each sample from the initial intensity to 0.32 mcd/m2, which is the minimum intensity and can be observed by human eye, is about 7 h. In other words, the afterglow life has no distinct connection with the content of SMSED. As shown in Table 1 and Fig. 1, the initial afterglow intensity of SMSED-PP fiber was increased with the addition of SMSED in the fiber, while the breaking tenacity and breaking elongation were decreased.
