The absorbance of test mixture was measured at k
max 725 nm on Varian
Cary 50 Spectrophotometer. The total phenolic content (TPC) in
different extracts were measured by the method of Ragazzi and
Veronese (1973) and expressed as gallic acid equivalent (GAE)
mg/g on dry weight basis. The total carotenoids (TC) were estimated as described by Jensen (1978) expressed as mg/g dry
weight.
