The bare and heavy water moderated 252Cf neutron fields of HPNGF have now been characterized with instruments that had recently been calibrated at International Primary Standard Laboratory, NPL. Hence, the measured values presented in this paper can be referenced to NPL. This will greatly aid the CNL HPNGF in its mission to provide high quality calibrations of neutron survey instruments and dosemeters for their customers.
Lastly, as expected the ratio of scattered to direct field was found to be higher for 100 cm setup than for 200 cm setup, because of the floor vicinity. However, on absolute scale this difference was not high enough (especially for heavy water moderated measurements) to trigger a possible change in the routine irradiation procedures, such as rising the complete experimental setup to 200 cm. This would not be practical nor economical solution for a small benefit it could bring, hence the routine irradiation setup at CNL should remain the same.
