In the paper by Pablo Molins-Ruano, Francisco
Borrego-Gallardo, Covadonga Sevilla, Francisco Jurado,
Pilar Rodríguez, and Sacha Gómez-Moñivas, the authors
present a methodological proposal for creating adaptive
tests consisting of high-quality questions. They propose a
development model consisting of 4 phases (creation and
classification, application of questionnaires, evaluation of the
results and, if appropriate, reclassification and review of the
questions) and a model of adaptive questionnaires based on
levels which is intended to ensure that the knowledge is
acquired in the proper order. In order to validate the proposal,
the authors used e-valUAM and they created 372 different
questions and questionnaires for students (e-valUAM is a
web application that aims to increase the quality of the test
using a numerical model that takes into account the relevance
of the questions with respect to the subject and retains all
relevant information on the learning process of students). The
results showed that a small percentage of questions had to be
reviewed. Besides, the factors that impact on the quality of
the questions were detected.
