There were habits that Hinata only knew that Uchiha Sasuke had. Things that he would never tell the world about. It was his secret and he had only shared it with her.
Hinata sat on the floor reading a new book that Ino recommended. She sat comfortably between Sasuke’s legs with one arm draping from his knee. She felt strong fingers run through her hair, smooth over her scalp and completely submerging themselves in navy tresses.
Sasuke liked playing in her hair.
Her hair was tugged lightly as he started on his seventh attempt at braiding a section. Hinata enjoyed this side of the fearsome Uchiha. The one that didn’t understand that she didn’t need twenty hair pins for a ponytail or that creating a bun wasn’t a simple task.
"Hinata, it won’t stay."
She turned to him slightly. “Do you want help?”
He huffed. “No.”
She giggled and turned back to her book. Him playing in her hair was so relaxing that she would fall asleep against him most days. “You’re so stubborn.” Hinata flipped the page.
Sasuke placed all her hair to one shoulder, moved his legs in and wrapped comforting arms just under her bust. Hinata squeaked feeling lips being pressed the back of her neck. “S-Sasuke…”
He motioned to the mirror sitting beside her. Hinata picked it up to see her “new style.” Her normal bangs were pinned up, the top half was pulled into a simple ponytail while the rest was free to hang.
"So." He pulled away slowly. "Do you hate it?"
Hinata leaned her head back against his chest so he could see her warming smile. “No, I love it.”
He nodded and moved her back forward. “You’ll ruin the style, Hinata. Sit up, straight.”
Hinata shook her hair out and earned a long lecture soon after.
