Current transformers typically are designed to operate at power frequencies.
As such, the frequency response of these CTs is not normally provided by the manufacturer.
Redfern et al [18] has investigated the frequency response of high transient based protection CTs between the frequency ranges of 1 kHz to 100 kHz.
However, this frequency range is low in comparison to the typical PD frequency band.
Figure 4 shows the experimental setup used in our work to obtain the frequency response measurement of a PFCT.
A signal generator feeds a radio frequency (RF) power amplifier which is terminated with RF load of 50 Ω connected in series with the primary conductor of the PFCT.
