The study primarily focuses _on understanding decisions taken by the government inmaking the existing education system a success. Our research gives an overview of theorganizational structure of higher education in South Korea, along with its brief historicaldevelopment. The role and influence of management strategiesoat the universities andcolleges was analyzed further to evaluate its influence on international university rankings.Subsequently an outline of funding in science education in South Korea has been studied,which influences ranking criteria as well as the reforms brought into the prevailing system of education. from Matters related to technology transfer, business development and investmentin infrastructure have also been studied in great detail. For this, the general scheme of theeducation process and it's organization has been outlined together with a brief history of itsdevelopment till date. Later on we analyze how the management applied into science andhigher education influences its growing international prestige and position in the internationaluniversity rankings. Subsequently the functioning and financing of science is outlined, with afocus on those factors which influence scores in particular ranking criteria, including thegovernmental level solutions – undertaken reforms of the system. Upon the results of theanalysis we highlight challenges lying ahead of South Korean higher education system.
