Morning Direk,
Trust you had a great weekend earlier.
I personally understand ur frustration, I talked to Mr. Tanut during the weekend, and he was mentioning to me the same issues which are currently happening in Thailand. Basically, this is what I can see now:
1. Parallel imports of Printers and Consumables.
a. We do realise the issues, however, from our end, it’s not easy for us to stop any other companies or even partners to Parallel import goods into Thailand, or even any other countries, unless every single printers and consumables are sub-encoded. And for this sub-encoded process, it will only applies to the new purchase, as there are too many printers/ consumables on the field right now. Alternatively, if you could provide us with any proof which partners/ company are crossing border selling, you could keep us inform, and we could send an official warning letter.
2. Compatible ribbons are invading ur territory
a. It seems that there are compatible ribbons in Thailand market which offer to upgrade the firmware of the printers (XID8100) so they could use cheaper compatible ribbons. Do you aware of the compatible ribbons brand? Or do you have the latest firmware version of the printers (after upgrade), so our team could investigate further. Alternatively, we could send an official letter to the “Authority” or even the end user, confirming the correct consumables part number and to warn them the cause of using the compatible ribbons (warranty of the printers will be void with immediate effect). FYI, Matica is taking legal action on the compatible ribbons supplier, due to the P&C, I can’t disclose more, hope for ur understanding.
Hope my explanation above helps.
Many thanks.
