showed that isolates of P. polonicum, including the one
used in our study, were able to produce verrucosidin, a potent neurotoxin
with genotoxic effects (Sabater-Vilar et al., 2003), when growing
in standard media at 25 °C. However, there are no specific reports for
these species regarding the production of mycotoxins at the temperatures
assessed in our study.
