Chapter 1 - Moving to San Fransokyo
Today would be the day I went from my senior year in high school to my first in college, and hopefully moving away from drama.
My old "boyfriend" sent everyone an embarrassing, technically, a nude picture of me. I loved him, but I guess if he did something outrageous like that, no longer did I have my eyes on him.
After that happened, everyone started to call me a "slut" and a "whore", and a bunch of other names that I wish I could get out of my head. Whenever I walked by people in the halls, they'd always gossip quietly with their friend next to them. Boys would harass me, but poking me in inappropriate places and asking me sexual questions.
Rule number one in high school relationships: Never let the alpha male take your heart.
My style also was affected by that incident. I went from your typical white-girl fashion to a more, I guess, "kawaii" clothing. Meaning I had a purse with a bunch of chibi keychains, and a yellow cardigan with strawberry buttons. I know, it sounds a little weird, but it was much better than what I was before. Now, with this new style, I felt... More like who I should be.
Next, I started wearing pink plastic oversized glasses and color contacts, and lightened my hair. Nobody realized that I was the "slut" of their gossip anymore. They thought I was a completely new person!
After that, I donned the name "Honey Lemon", to cover up my true name. Sweet like honey, but with a tang.
Boxes were stacked around my room, well, rather more like a room in another person's house, because once the news of that picture being spread around the school, my parents kicked me out. I couldn't really find work, other than a coffee shop.
Looking for things to fit in the box, I found a grey, plastic case. Inside were glass vials, beakers, and some chemicals. Chemistry was my favorite subject in high school, and I hope I can somewhat apply it to whatever job there is in San Fransokyo.
I marveled at the kit, inspected each piece, and put it in the box. No part of me knew why I kept it. Only my heart would know, but the heart's message getting across isn't easy at all. You have to figure it out, with your brain.

The last box was put in the moving truck. I closed the back, with some help from the homeowner, and departed the house I lived in for a couple months. Mom and Dad didn't care anymore. They like, disowned me.
To my surprise, San Fransokyo isn't too far away from where I formerly lived! Now, I was so happy, I almost hit the curb of a road, barely missing it by the quick turn of the spinning wheel. San Fransokyo is just iver the bridge, and I am determined to get there and start a new life.
I drove up to the bridge toll booth, paid, and crossed the bridge. The temple-like things that were spaced out every tenth-mile or so that connect the wires together was a charming feature. I smiled and drove on.
Traffic's so bad here. I ended up going to the coast by what's called "Ryoshi Wharf", which have fishermen boats bobbing up and down with the waves that come in. But that didn't distract me from all of the signs of what probably was the downtown area. Ads of games and the city's bicycle system glowed from the top of a tower. Let's just say this city was perfect.
