The moisture contents (percent wet-basis) of the nuts at the time of experiments were 13 4% for ‘Dura’ and 12 1% for ‘Tenera’. The size distribution of the nut samples and other measured physical properties are shown in Table 1. The significant axial dimensions of the nuts of the two varieties are shown in Table 1. The range of geometric means is 17 07–27 68 mm and 22 32 to 26 51 mm for the ‘Dura’ and ‘Tenera’ varieties, respectively. The sphericities of the nuts are 0 70 to 0 78 for ‘Dura’ and 0 63 to 0 83 for ‘Tenera’.
