In general, it is assumed that soil compaction affects negatively seedling establishment and development and processes mediated by root such as anchorage, water and nutrient uptake, or symbiotic relations (Kozlowski, 1999). Thus, soil compaction is one of the principal causes of yield reduction for a wide species spectrum(Wolkowski, 1990; Unger and Kaspar, 1994; Whalley et al., 2008).
