The word “attitude” comes from the Latin word “aptus” and its meanings have been defined by psychologists, sociologists and anthropologists. Bogardus, a sociologist, states that “an attitude is a tendency to act towards or against something in the environment, which thereby becomes a positive or negative value,” while G.W. All port, a social psychologist, states that “an attitude is a mental or neutral state of readiness, organized through experience, exerting a directive or dynamic influence upon the individual’s response to all objects and situations with which it is related” (Oskamp 1991, P.7). From the above definitions, it can be summarized that an attitude is an individual’s positive or negative feeling and thinking which influence that person’s behavior to act for or against something.
