studied optimum dilute acid hydro-lysis of Enteromorpha with H2SO4, HCl and H3PO4 at 0.6 to 2.2% concentrations and hydrolysis time of 30, 60 and 90 min at 121°C. They found that hydrolysis with H2SO4 was more effective than HCl and H3PO4 at 60 or 90 min. Treatment with H2SO4 at concentrations of 1.4 and 1.8% for 60 min gave reducing sugars 47.57 and 47.41 g/L, respectively, much higher than those of other conditions used in this study
