Evaporative emissions.
Evaporative emission limits apply
to vehicles fueled by gasoline or alcohol fuels. Both
CARB and the EPA limit evaporative hydrocarbon emissions
from light-duty vehicles to 2.0 grams per test,
which is considered effectively equivalent to zero (a
small allowance is needed for other, non-fuel related organic
emissions from new cars, such as residual paint
solvent).
