The next day after school Fil L1, Fletcher, and Billy sat in her
yard discussing what had happened at the stab les,
"Dad's really upset I ll , " said Fletcher.
"I'm not surprised! But he's not thinking of leaving
Birmingham, is he?" asked Pizza.
"I don't know. He's worr ied that if it happens aga in, the
horses cou ld get hurt."
"So, do you th ink it was Robert Scully?" asked Pizza.
"1don't think - I know it was Rob ert Scully - or one of his
men ," said fl etcher.
"But the police say that there's not hing to show thut it was
him."
"Scully's not a nice man ," said Billy. "My dad used to be
one of his drivers years ago,"
"Id love to do something to Scully:' said Pizza.
They all sat and thought for a while.
"Should we go and write mcssages on his tr ucks?"
suggested Billy.
"No," said Pizza. "Ve can do bette r than that ,"
