Assessment of Body Condition Score (Exp. 2)
The BCS of each goat was determined at the start of the experiment, after the introduction of the bucks and after 20 weeks
of gestation. The BCS was assessed using the 1–5 point scale described by Russel (1991). The animals were visually assessed by feeling the level of muscling and fat deposition over and around the vertebrae in the loin region.
