Austenitic stainless steels and IF (interstitial free steels)
are welded similarly by using resistance spot welding technique
which is most widely used joining process for the fabrication
of sheet formed components, with or without
requirement of special technique [6]. However, there is limited
information about in dissimilar weld between austenitic
stainless steel and IF steel by using spot welding.
Increasing application of these steels will require a better
understanding of the issues associated with resistance spot
weld to dissimilar materials.
