Specific siting criteria were developed based on the literature and the outcome from the questionnaire to comply with the guidelines used nationally and internationally. The wind farm location criteria (WFLC) consists of a number of constraint factors including: topography, wind speed and direction, land use/cover, population, access, hydrology, ecology and resources. The constraint factors, and the criteria to which they correspond, have been highlighted as being physical, planning, economic, environmental or resource considerations (Table 1).
