MUSCLE pain is common. Fibromyalgia occurs in
2 percent of the general population (in 0.5 percent
of males and 1.5 percent of females)and is diagnosed in
approximately 15 percent of patients seen in rheumatology
clinics and up to 10 percent of those seen in general internal-medicine clinics.
