The effect of plasma volumes on optical densities was compensated for by taking
identical volumes of plasma for standards as well as for unknown samples. A high assay sensitivity of 20 pg/well
GH was obtained from 35 assays while taking 100 μL plasma for estimation. Although the different volumes of
yak plasma (25, 50 and 100 μL) did not influence the shape of the standard curve appreciably (Fig. 1) 100 μl
plasma was taken in all assays. This was sufficient for determining all physiological variations of GH within a
range of 0.2 ng/mL to 50 ng/mL plasma (Fig. 3)
