Successful implementation of a silvicultural management
system requires operational objectives and a
practical concept for implementing the objectives. The
concept includes suitable methods of resource assessment
and description, operational planning and management
control. To save costs, resource assessment
and continuous monitoring could be combined. It is not
necessary to use technical jargon when describing aspects
of forest density or structure or when explaining a
silvicultural program to a layperson. Descriptions of
forest state and descriptions of manipulations of a forest
that are easy to understand are especially important
to people in an urban environment who place a high
value on the natural resources that are within easy
reach.
