In the Asia-Pacific region, the stem borers Xylotrechus quadripes and Acalolepta cervina are severe pests of Arabica coffee in Thailand and China, while the berry borer Hypothenemus hampei is a serious problem of Robusta coffee in the Philippines, Indonesia and India. In this chapter, the major pests of coffee in this region, with special reference to the above countries, are elaborated. The management of these pests (including Zeuzera coffeae, Xylosandrus compactus, Planococcus sp. and Coccus viridis) using an integrated approach (consisting of physical, mechanical, cultural, chemical and biological measures as well as pheromone traps) is discussed, based on practical experience in the respective countries.
