(RR) for natural and cardiovascular mortality using the
interquartile range of 25 mg/m3 is 1.025 (95%CI = 1.010–
1.040) and 1.041 (95%CI = 1.016–1.067). The coefficient
for the two-day lag of PM10 implies a RR for respiratory
mortality of 1.078 (95%CI = 1.016–1.143). Using the coefficients
for the five-day moving average of PM10, the
relative risk (RR) for natural mortality is 1.033 (95%CI =
1.013–1.053) and for respiratory mortality it is 1.162
(95%CI = 1.053–1.281). Including binary variables for day
of the week, smoothers for temperature and humidity,
and a temperature-humidity interaction term did not significantly
alter these results.
