The AIMS Program allows employees the opportunity to pursue academic studies relevant to Goddard's mission through a formal program at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. It must be clearly shown that the academic classes pursued are job related, for the advantage of GSFC, and will significantly increase the employee's effectiveness in his/her present job assignment.
Academic training shall not be provided merely for an employee's personal benefit. The AIMS Program uses a competitive process in which applications are ranked by their perspective Directorates and then reviewed and approved by a Centerwide Executive Development Advisory Panel (EDAP). Participation in the AIMS Program requires the employee to continue in service for a period of time ranging between one and three years, depending upon which component of AIMS the employee pursues. The AIMS Program consists of the Part-Time Graduate Study Program (PTGSP), the Undergraduate Study program (USP), the Study Fellowship Program (SFP), the Engineering Advanced Degree Program and the Procurement Operations Division (Code 210) Undergraduate Degree Program. Check out the links below for additional information on each of the programs.
