As per conversation with Richa, she stated that she and her mother (the grandmother) used to manage the stay of the children after the death of the mother. They initially managed them to stay in THI camp but they were not looked after well by the caregivers so they happened to be moved from place to place. She said that at the moment, they thought that the children would have more opportunity to apply for resettlement if they stayed in the camp so they asked the children to move and stay with the current caregiver Pah. She said that Pah knew the children since they were very little and she also considered the mother as her own daughter and the children as her grandchildren before the mother died. She loved the children so well that after the mother passed away, Pah offered to take care of the children but they thought that THI camp would be better for the resettlement opportunity at that time so they managed to place the children in THI camp. She said that she was not very satisfied with the care arrangement of Pee Eh (the previous caregiver of child 3) in THI camp because when the children were asked for the interview at UNHCR office in the camp, she was not at home so that the children missed the interview. She did not also manage for the children to be taken to the interview. She therefore thought that Pee Eh was not a very caring person. When asked, she said that caregiver Naw Kwie was good but she also had to take care of many other children at her house at Hwai Namnak. She said that she used to pay Naw Kwie 1,700 USD per year but they have not provided any to the current caregiver at the moment when asked.
