It can be concluded that three progressive lines(205, 210, 215) derived from PBC80 and one line(101, AVPPO207) derived from PBC932 showed a desirable level of resistance against prevalent Colletotrichum isolates from North and Northeast Thailand. Hence, these four lines were used in a crossing program to combine resistance genes from two sources at two fruit stages(Fig. I). The SSR- I IpmsE032 marker was validated in our genotypes and will be useful for marker-assisted selection during generation advancement of three-way crosses developed using resistant progressive lines.
