In the absence of antibiotics, the number of E coli colonies that grew on the chromogenic agar medium were 3 x 106cFU/100 mLin IN-BIO samples, were reduced to 1.5 x 103 CFU/100 mL after the biological treatment in OUTBIO samples, with a decrease of >3 log units. A further reduction to 2-log units decrease in OUT-DIS samples.
