.1.2. Matrix temperature
Comparison of the matrix temperature curves (Fig. 2) showed
that the T1 and T2 curves were higher than that of T0, which implied
that heat was released by biodegradation of food waste in the
Agent-1 and Agent-2 biodegradation systems. In addition, the
curve of T2 was higher than that of T1 in the matrixes of Agent-1
and Agent-2 2 h after food waste was added. The matrix temperatures
of Agent-2 fluctuated between 40 C to 55 C, which were
higher than that of Agent-1, especially during the first 25 days of
the degradation experiment, and so did the temperature risen
(4T). The above results suggest that the composting processes in
the Agent-2 matrix were stronger than that in Agent-1, and the
composting process in the food waste degradation system weakened
gradually after running for about one month.
