These results show the concentration of Cu2þ and Zn2þ are
below the WHO specified maximum contaminant level. But the concentration of Pb2þ is of concern as it exceeded the
maximum contaminant level of WHO in the targeted area of
Jimma Town. This suggests a significant risk to this population
given the toxicity of these metals and the fact that for
many, hand dug wells and boreholes are the only sources of
their water supply in this environment.
