Household product manufacturers have had to contend with relatively rapid changes in consumer preferences. For example, the popularity of various product types has changed over the years: Bleach was once the most popular cleaning product, followed by Lysol. Now various cleaning products for specific surfaces (and desired scents) are the mainstays of most homes. Manufacturers must combat buyer preferences by continuously creating new products and new designs.
