Visa requirements for nationals from group 3 that have a Legal Permanency (Permanent Residency, Work Permit or Student Permit) in Singapore.
If you are a citizen from Group 3 (for example Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia or India) with a legal permanency in Singapore, you will need a consular visa to enter Costa Rica. You may proceed to request your visa before the Embassy of Costa Rica-Consular section in Singapore. This Consular visa is a single entry and must be used on the first 60 days after the date of issue.
It will be valid up to 30 days upon arrival
Compulsory Requirements:
Letter to the Embassy of Costa Rica in Singapore-Consular Section asking for the visa (Download here)
One photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm)
Photocopy of the whole passport (All pages). Passport has to be valid at least 6 months at the expected date of entry in Costa Rica. Original passport has to be presented at the Embassy of Costa Rica in Singapore-Consular Section at the moment of the interview.

Legal permit in Singapore (Permanent Residency, Work permit or Student permit), with at least 6 months validity.
Legalized Police Clearance Records*. (translated into Spanish if it is not in English**, issued within the last six months***)
Evidence of economic solvency: personal account bank statements from the three most recent months. All documents presented to fulfill this economic solvency requirement must be legalized.* (translated into Spanish if not in English**)
Copy of tentative flight itinerary or flight ticket.
Other support documents:
Copy of hotel reservation (if any)
If the trip is done by invitation: letter of invitation to visit Costa Rica
Letter from the employing company (original document), stating the reason of the trip and who will be responsible of its payment
Letter of invitation from the receiving company, stating that the company will be responsible for the departure of the applicant before the visa expires (original document)
Copy of the ID of the person signing the invitation letter
Feel free to attach any other pertinent support documentation.
*Required legalized documents must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore before being presented to the Embassy of Costa Rica-Consular section in Singapore.
**All documents must come with a Spanish official translation if not in english in order to be processed by the Embassy of Costa Rica-Consular section in Singapore.
*** Any certificate must be dully legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore and must have been issued within the last 6 months at the moment of the application.
Note: All presented documents will be kept by the Embassy for its records. If any original document is presented and must be returned to the applicant, please include a copy for the file.
Fee for approved Visas
Collection of approved visas shall be by appointment only.
Fee for approved consular visa: $32 USD (American Dollars)
Fee must be deposited at the Embassy’s bank account after the interview, on a nearby bank (We do not receive cash at the Embassy). The deposit must indicate the name of the applicant. You shall present a Bank Receipt indicating the equivalent of US$32 (American Dollars) in the Embassy's Singapore Dollars Account .
