In Pūrva (early) Mīmāṁsā does not really focus on achieving mokṣa. Instead, it proposed that one should aspire to go to heaven or at least have a better rebirth. •But in later Mīmāṁsā, the idea of mokṣa was incorporated into its doctrine (as with Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika).•But unlike Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika, where the emphasis is on jñāna (knowledge) as a means for spiritual emancipation, later Mīmāṁsā teaches that one should think in terms of karma (action) to achieve mokṣa.
