2 OBJECTIVES
- To demonstrate the effectiveness of protection temperature in the curtain wall.
- To determine the temperature effect causes condensation on the surface of glass and curtain wall frames.
- To forecast areas that may have caused frosted surface of glass and curtain wall frames area
CONDENSATION
The condensation resistance of the aluminum curtain wall in winter is governed by the indoor conditions of temperature and relative humidity and the outdoor temperature. In summer, the condensation resistance of the aluminum curtain wall is governed by the outdoor temperature, the outdoor relative humidity and the indoor air conditioned temperature.
Condensation occurs on the glass or aluminum surfaces when the humidity of the surrounding air comes in contact with a cold surface to change from a vapor to liquid. The temperature at which this change occurs is the dew point temperature of the surrounding air.
Thermal Movement in Specification
The facade shall be designed for differential thermal movement resulting from an exterior surface temperature
range of 5°C – 80°C, and a building interior temperature range of 15°C – 30°C. The ambient internal temperature is
approximately 23°C, with relative humidity at 65%.
