This client, and so many others in Gary’s experience, did not want to look at who he was or where he was, let alone begin to take those baby steps necessary to start moving. But in clinging to some future notion of a life to be, a potential you, today slips away. We can learn so much about ourselves and our lives can be rich beyond measure if we pay attention, look around and take it all in, fold up our binoculars and put them away. The future will happen, gradually becoming present moment by present moment. Only in living now can we understand the flow of life, how we can begin to move with it and where we might end up.
