-Command/Programming Based Problems-
Since most modern robotics requires some form of instructions or programming, it makes sense that an error can occur. I myself worked in a plant with automated robotics, which somehow cost the company thousands of dollars due to a slight discrepancy in programming sub-routine. Basically, robotics such as what auto assembly lines use, are given a single or multiple tasks, which are carried out repeatedly over and over. To consider the ramifications that could occur, if even the slightest inch or degree was no longer in precise alignment, is what robotic engineers and programmers must face everyday. A robotic arm with the task of fixing a few bolts could easily begin punching holes, costing the company thousands if not millions of dollars in damage.
