We contend that such an understanding will help managers to recognise the importance of specific
factors, prioritise these factors and create an action plan to manage them proactively. Managers will
also be able to devote resources, allocate priorities and provide leadership in areas where their focus
could have a positive influence on achieving competitive advantage. However, as stated earlier,
research that provides insight into the role of the drivers, factors and processes leading to competitive
advantage from ERP adoption is minimal (Kalling, 2003).
