On the other hand all of the lactic acid bacterial strains were isolated from good quality fermented milk products (whey) on de Man Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) medium and were selected for their very good antimicrobial activities. Antifungal activities of these five bacterial strains were checked against isolated pathogens by dual culture overlay assay (Magnusson and Schnürer, 2001). The antifungal activities of the cell free superntants of the bacterial strains were also checked against isolated pathogens by agar well diffusion method (Fernández-Garayzábal et al., 1992). Here both boiled and unboiled cultures were tested.Inhibition of percent spore germination of VBAM1 by different dilutions of culture filtrates of five biocontrol organisms was tested on cavity slides followed by microscopic observations (Saravananet al., 2004).
