Interpretation #2 for Addition
1. We will start with a new GSP document. As before, construct your unit circle, plots points z, w, and z + w, but think
of them as vectors. So let’s construct the vectors z and w by constructing the segments from the origin to z and from
the origin to w (no need to do this for z + w for now)
2. We are going to construct a parallelogram using the vectors z and w as two of the sides.
a. Begin by selecting the vector z and the point w, and under the Construct Menu, select Parallel Line.
b. Let’s do a similar thing, but this time select the vector w and the point z.
c. You should now have a parallelogram, but we have these extra lines so let’s hide them. Begin by selecting
the point z and z + w and construct the segment between these two points. Do the same thing for w
and z + w.
d. Now select the lines that you constructed and hide them by going to the Display Menu and selecting Hide.
