Positive affectivity is a dispositional variable, which has received empirical
attention in a study conducted with bank employees in the UAE (Shaw et al., 2000).
However, the preponderance of empirical research has tested the impact of negative
affectivity on stressors and strains with less attention devoted to positive affectivity
(Shaw et al., 2000; Zellars et al., 2006). Accordingly, this study focuses on positive
affectivity as one of the personal resources.
