Several processes, such as steam reforming, autothermal
reforming, partial oxidation and water gas shift, can be used
to extract hydrogen from fuels like gasoline, diesel, methane,
methanol and ethanol. Because of its high hydrogen to carbon ratio
(4) and because it can be obtained either from fossil resources or
from biomass, methanol is one of the most promising sources for
hydrogen production [3,4], mainly by steam reforming.
