For controlled temperature, the curves shifted rightward
(towards larger crystal size) and broadened with decreasing IPA concentration (Fig. 5(b)), implying the effect of agglomeration.
When present at a nominal level, water, the co-component in the
solvent, helped DHSA to attain correct crystallization configuration.
It also acted as a binder to facilitate crystal cluster formation,
which was somewhat similar to the role of crystal nuclei that acted
as a center of growth by incorporating molecules from adjacent
layers. IPA, however, was a solvent that countered crystallization
by dissolving DHSA, thus inhibiting crystal cluster formation.
